• Windows Vista & Windows 7

1. Open the Connect to the Internet wizard by clicking the “Start button” -> Click “Control Panel” -> “Click Network and Internet”
2. Click -> “Network and Sharing Center” -> Click “Set up a connection or network” -> Click “Connect to the Internet”
3. On the “How do you want to connect?” page, Select “Broadband (PPPoE).
4. Continue to follow the steps in the wizard.

• Windows XP

1. Go to “Start” -> “Control Panel”
2. Click on “Network & Internet Connections”
3. Click on “Network Connections”
4. Click on “Create a new Connection”
5. Click on “Next”
6. Check off  “Connect to the Internet” -> Click “Next”
7. Check off  “Set up my connection manually” -> Click “Next”
8. Check off  “Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and password” -> Click “Next”
9. Type in your ISP’s name (Vortex Wireless) -> Click “Next”
10. Enter your user ID as provided by your ISP.
11. Enter your password as provided by your ISP, enter it a second time to confirm -> Check off “Use this account name” -> Check off  “Make this the default internet connection” -> Click  “Next”
12. Check off  “Add a shortcut to this connection to your desktop” -> Click “Next”
13. Click “Connect”

One of the newest additions to your internet wireless service will be the new mail client that we are switching over to. The new client is Postini and has features that you should not be without.

Some of those new features are:

• Spam Filters
• Virus Filters
• Easy Password Change

Soon you will be able to set your own spam filters, decide who you want to contact you and who you do not with these.

Virus filters enables you to scan your email before you open it or download it to your system.

Changing your password when you want without having to give it out to anyone else ensures that your email account is even more secure.

To ensure a smooth transition to the new client so you do not miss your email service;

please fill in the form below to send us the following:

• Your Name
• Your user name
• Email Addresses you currently have with us
• Your desired password

Once the change over to the new client is in effect you will be able to log in and change your password and set up your filters.

The most important thing is to know the address of your VortexMail server. This is the same computer address that you use in the browser when you login to Webmail.

For instance, if you can access the login page at the address http://mail.vortexmail.com

then the address of your server is mail.vortexmail.com .

Outlook

To configure an account, simply click on the menu Tools, click on Accounts, then click on Add. Select Mail as the account type. Follow the instructions displayed to setup your name and email address, and when prompted for Email server names, specify that the server is a POP3 server (default), and the address for the incoming and outgoing server is mail.vortexmail.com.

- Click on the Images to open them in another window
- Simply close the image window to come back here.

Select the ‘Servers’ tab and make sure that authentication for the outgoing server is enabled. See the following picture:
